Zoe Saldaña’s heartfelt Oscars 2025 acceptance speech highlights her husband’s beautiful hair

For her role in “Emilia Pérez,” the actress won the Best Supporting Actress prize.

Zoe Saldaña’s heartfelt Oscar winning speech included a special mention of her husband’s “beautiful hair.”

The 46-year-old Emilia Pérez star accepted the Best Supporting Actress award on stage at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 2.

Saldaña waved to her mother and said, “Mami! Mami!” before starting to speak. She then informed the audience, “My mom is here; my whole family is here.” This accolade is astounding to me.

“To my husband with that beautiful hair,” she said, highlighting her husband Marco Perego. Being your partner is the greatest honor I have ever received. In our lovely, ideal sons, Zen, Bowie, and Cy, you hung the moon. Every night, they cast stars throughout our sky.

“I am the first American of Dominican descent to accept an Academy Award, and I know I won’t be the last,” she said in closing. “I am a proud child of immigrant parents with dreams, dignity, and hardworking hands.” I hope.

Saldaña was nominated with Isabella Rossellini (Conclave), Felicity Jones (The Brutalist), Ariana Grande (Wicked), and Monica Barbaro (A Complete Unknown).
